Review: Avant D3

Peepshow Toys kindly sent me the Avant D3 Dildo  made by Blush Novelties to review and holy hell was the reviewing part fun! But let’s start with the basics shall we? The Avant D3 is hand sculpted out of platinum grade silicone (Yay for body safety!) and is seven and a half inches long with six inches of that being insertable. It is one and one half inches in width. I wouldn’t call it a small toy, but by no means does it seem to be a giant and overwhelming dildo, at least not from my point of view.

The brightly colored stripes are beautiful and caught my eye immediately. That alone made me want to hold it in my hands and see how pretty it was. By far, I’m going to say that this is the prettiest dildo that I own. It is also made of a nice, plush silicone and has a relatively firm texture, although there is a bit of squish to it. It reminds me of a firm stress ball. My first impressions of the toy beyond the gorgeous color and wonderful texture of the silicone led me to the ridged texture of the toy itself. I couldn’t wait to use it and see if they felt as good as they looked.

The head of the toy is very pronounced and that is one of the things I love about it, however that head may look intimidating because of its size and shape. To me it looked like fun and I can feel the very generous pop and then pull slightly against my skin as I slide it in and back out of my body. It isn’t painful at all and I found the sensation to be very pleasurable. And those ridges? Yeah…they do good and happy things to my insides like glide across my g-spot in a perfect rhythm and leave me wanting more and more and more, which I eventually get in the form of an explosive orgasm or two. In my opinion the girthy head paired with the ridges along the top of the toy make it perfect for g-spotting which is exactly what it is designed for. The length of it is almost, but not quite, too much and for me that it absolutely perfect.

When it first arrived and I was examining it at my desk I was curious and immediately stuck it to the top of the desk. And it stuck. Since then, it has been stuck to a window, a plastic box, the side of a bathtub, and a wall, and it has stuck where it was placed on all of them. So the suction cup definitely functions as intended, although I’m not a fan of using it. I simply don’t find it comfortable to use a dildo that is suction cupped to anything. But I know if I want to try it again, this will be my go to toy.

I’ve spent most of this review gushing over this toy and have tried to find anything negative about the Avant D3 Dildo and in all honesty I cannot think of a legitimate complaint. It attracts cat hair like a lint roller, but it is silicone and all of my silicone dildos do the same thing. The closest thing that I have to a complaint is simply wishing that the texture was even more ridged, but that’s just because I love textured dildos, especially when the texture hits my g-spot, which, again, this toy does wonderfully. Also, don’t forget that if you’re using lubricant with it that you want to choose something that is water or oil based.

So there’s my take on the Avant D3 Dildo. I can’t get enough of it. The colors, the pronounced head, the texture and feel of it. Everything about it makes me happy. If you’re interested in picking up your own Avant D3 Dildo check out Peepshow Toys where you can purchase it for $43.00.

Review: The Dodil

The thermos container that the Dodil comes packaged in.

When I first heard about the Dodil I was curious, but also felt like it might be a little on the gimmicky side. That said, I still wanted to try it because who wouldn’t want to be able to have a custom dildo. I love that it comes packaged in a thermos container that is actually a useful part of the design and a good place to store the Dodil when not in use. I do wish the thermos or its lid was a bit taller though so it could be screwed shut for better storage. Of course, depending on the shape the toy is molded into this is a non-issue.

When I initially boiled my water and poured it into thermos with the Dodil and then waited twenty minutes instead of the thirty the directions called for because I was getting impatient, I quickly discovered on my first try shaping the Dodil that it can be more difficult than you might expect. I know my first shape wasn’t pretty, nor was it effective as a G-spot toy like I was hoping it would be. But, the beauty of the Dodil is that I was able to place it back in the thermos, refill it with water, and there I had it, a nice straight toy that I could shape and design to my heart’s content until I found what was just right for me.

Before molding

So I started designing and shaping and molding and even enlisted my partner’s help to see what they could come up with as well. Between us we came up with various textured or curved designs that when tried ended up being varying amounts of successful in the way that they helped me reach an orgasm or not. I lost count of how many configurations I tried and I’m sure that I will try many more of them in my never-ending quest for more orgasms, please!

Obviously the Dodil requires you to have a bit of patience, a trait that I am lacking, in order to let it get soft enough to mold, then cool enough to handle and for me that was a little frustrating simply because, as I said, I am not a patient woman. But seeing as this is simply the mode of action for the toy I guess I’d better learn some patience and better sculpting skills while I’m at it. My initial reaction to the included bit of plastic string to tie the Dodil into shapes was to assume that it was more than a bit fiddly and immediately discount it. But once I had some practice shaping and molding the Dodil, I found that having a way to hold it in place that didn’t involve me holding it to keep a shape or texture from coming undone was quite nice. One thing that I do wish, is that the Dodil had a bit more mass to it, not length or girth specifically just more material to work with in general, although I’m learning to work with what I’ve got!

Above: Three different shapes I tried out. Can you tell that I love curvy dildos?

I still stand by my statement that the Dodil is a bit of a gimmick where toys are concerned, but I find that it is a rather novel one. I may not use the toy frequently because it can be a more than little fussy, what with the boiling water and everything, but I feel like it has its place in my sex toy arsenal, as a tester of shapes if nothing else. We’ll see how that evolves over time. If we find something that we particularly like we can see about finding a more permanent solution. But that ability to test out various shapes and textures seems like it could be useful in the long term.

If you’re interested you can purchase the full Dodil kit at Luvoqa for $111.00 or you can check out your favorite body safe sex toy retailer.

A Little Me Time

She was home alone and horny. So what’s a girl to do when her partner isn’t home to fuck her silly? She takes matters into her own hands of course. With her favorite dildo and clitoral vibe she settled into the bed. She started with her nipples, pinching and rolling and tugging at them none too gently until they were rock hard and then she placed the vibrator against them, one at a time. The sensations made her gasp out loud and squirm on the bed. Her free hand trailed down her body and back up several times as she lightly caressed her own skin, still alternating the vibrator from one nipple to the other. Quietly, she moaned.

Finally she took the little bullet vibe away from her nipples and pressed it ever so gently against her clit. That alone was enough and she ground herself into the toy as her first orgasm hit her. Catching her breath she grinned and reached for her dildo, added a little lube, and slowly slipped it into her hungry pussy. This…this was what she’d been waiting for. In and out, nice and slow, feeling the slickness of herself against the toy. She just enjoyed the slow, lazy motions and let her lust build, gently teasing her labia and clit with her fingers, just enough to keep things nice and interesting.

Gradually her thrusts grew quicker and she reached for her vibrator, turned it back on, and placed it right on the edge of her clit, very gently, and turned it on to its lowest setting. It was just a tiny rumble adding to the stimulation she was already providing herself and she sighed with pleasure. She closed her eyes, seeing a fantasy in her head while she fucked herself and rubbed the vibrator against her clit. Soon it was all just too much and she began to thrust in earnest as she clicked the vibe up to its highest setting.

There was much more rumble now and she could feel it vibrating deeper into her body, forcing the dildo in and out, nearly reaching her cervix. Her hips lifted off the bed involuntarily and she found a rhythm there as she lifted to meet her own thrusts as she would those of a lover. She was fucking the dildo hard and grinding that damn vibrator into her clit and it felt so good. Her legs began to tremble and shake and she could feel the ridges on the shaft of the dildo scraping against her g-spot, filling her up so full, and she was almost there. Her tiny sighs and moans turned her on more, knowing she was doing something that many people would still consider dirty. Well, I’ll be a dirty girl, she thought, and fucked her pussy harder, arching her hips into it and with no warning another orgasm rolled over her. She tried to keep the dildo moving and fuck herself as she came to prolong an excellent orgasm and a third tiny one ripped through her as well when she pressed that vibrator just so.

After that she lay sated on the bed, not bothering to remove the dildo, but just turning off the vibe and laying there to rest for a long moment. She felt much better and couldn’t think of a better way to spend part of her day.

Review: Tantus Goliath Super Soft

New in box. So pretty!

Upon seeing my newest Tantus toy, the Goliath Super Soft (not to be mistaken for the original Goliath mind you), I was immediately intrigued by the gorgeous shade of copper. It was so different from the standard pink, purple, or black that I was in love with it immediately, even before I finished opening the package. Once I removed it and got to feel how delightfully soft and squishy the Super Soft silicone is I knew that this was going to be a fun toy.

As usual, Tantus did not disappointment. With an insertable length of about 7 inches and a diameter of 1 and ¾ quarters of an inch this isn’t exactly a small toy, but I didn’t feel like it was too big either, perhaps because of the softer silicone. To give you an example of just how soft the silicone used in making the Super Soft line of toys is, I can take my Goliath and bend it in half, compress it several millimeters, and wobble it back and forth like crazy and it just returns to its original, textured shape. And it definitely has some texture, from the pronounced ridge on the head to the thick veins running along the shaft it seems like texture could be the Goliath’s middle name.

So much texture…lovely.

In terms of performance, the Goliath Super Soft is amazing. Feeling that ridge pop as it slides into my vagina is fantastic and makes me want to feel it over and over again; then the texture of the veins kick in. Nice, slow strokes really let me feel the veins which is delightful. All of the texture makes for an absolutely lovely sensation and because the silicone is squishier it feels like I can take the toy deeper without having any trouble with it being too hard and causing it to bump uncomfortably inside of me.

To me though, this toy really shines when playing with a partner because they don’t have to be so concerned about going too hard or too fast because the silicone is so soft and squishy. I know my partner appreciated this. The only complaints that we’ve had so far is because of the squish in the base the Goliath Super Soft can be a little harder to hold on to as it just kind of wants to slip from your (water based) lubricant covered grasp and that it can get dirt and hair stuck to it if you don’t have a bag or store it in the box. I usually give my toys a quick wash or wipe down before using them so that’s not a deal breaker for me.

The amazing head that gives you that nice “pop” feeling I mentioned earlier

Otherwise I felt like this was a great, fun dildo to use alone or with a partner and because of the softness and texture it really appeals to me in a way that some of my harder dildos don’t because of the differences in material. It is certainly a toy that I will keep reaching for (and keeping having orgasms with!) As with all of my experience with Tantus products this one is of incredibly high quality and is designed to last. If you’d like to pick up a Goliath Super Soft you can find it at the Tantus website for $89.99 or shop your favorite body safe sex toy retailer.

Review: Satisfyer Whale

Whale? Really? I was pretty underwhelmed at the Satisfyer Whale the instant I saw it in person, but the name is what really got to me. From an aesthetic standpoint I get the name, but from a marketing angle it makes zero sense to me. I definitely wish this toy had a better name. That said, it is cute and does kind of remind me of a humpback whale so maybe the name did its job. But I still don’t see how it relates to a sex toy. Just my thoughts.

Moving on, the Whale is designed to be a waterproof, wearable vibrator that can be used during penetrative sex. Made from ABS and a nice smooth silicone it is both body safe and easy to clean. The Whale takes roughly two hours to get to a full charge, though the manual says the first charge could take up to eight hours, and it has a magnetic charger that is simple to use and not at all fussy just like the rest of the Satisfyer line-up. It has ten vibration speeds and patterns, comes in at three inches on the top arm and 2 and a half inches on the bottom. There are motors in each arm to provide direct clitoral and vaginal (G-spot) stimulation. To me the motors provided a vibration that was somewhere between buzzy at the low end to a bit rumbly on some of the settings, but nothing close to the rumbliness that I typically prefer. Overall though the vibrations weren’t terrible and I can see using this toy as a teaser while watching or reading some porn.

Upon trying it out, my partner declared it to be painful and uncomfortable and without it being held in place it would slide right out anytime they moved. Not exactly the things one is looking for in a wearable vibrator. It was also difficult trying to get the outer arm situated so that it provided direct stimulation to my clit, but I think this is very anatomy dependent and might work better for someone with smaller labia. I decided to try this toy out with a dildo (the Tantus Echo Handle for the curious) to see how it would work when it wasn’t causing someone else physical pain. Turns out, that unless I held the Whale in place it slipped right out again which didn’t really surprise me, although I did have a surprisingly pleasant orgasm using the Whale with a dildo. So if you don’t mind holding it in place it can be a stellar toy. I’m wondering if perhaps, as a plus size woman, this toy simply isn’t the right shape for my anatomy overall and perhaps that contributed to my having to hold it in place.

My final impressions were far better than my first as I expected little to nothing from this toy in the game of orgasms, but I was quite surprised, even if my use case wasn’t exactly as advertised. It reached the goal of it giving me an orgasm, it functions as designed, and is a well made toy overall. If you’re interested in picking one of these up, Peepshow Toys carries them for $49.95 or you can shop your favorite body safe sex toy retailer.

Review: Aneros Evi

The Aneros Evi came shipped to me from IGNITE Pleasure Products via USPS Priority Mail with a packing slip that gave no indication of the contents (good for me since I have nosy neighbors) and arrived in a timely fashion taking only a few days to arrive. When I opened the package and pulled out the red and white box that the Evi comes in I was utterly delighted. This is a toy I’ve been wanting for a long time now and here it is. Opening the outer box led me to a plain white box that flipped open to reveal the Evi nestled into a white plastic casing. It did not come with a storage bag.

Once I got past the packaging, the first thing I noticed when I picked up the Evi is just how smooth it is. They toy appears to have a seam running all the way around it, but it is so smooth as to be unnoticeable unless you are looking for it. This is a big plus to me as uneven or raised seams can be really uncomfortable once inserted into the vagina. I expected this would be nice and velvety soft with a bit of water based lubricant. I found out shortly thereafter that I was correct.

When I first inserted the Evi it felt very comfortable and didn’t pinch or pull at all. My next discovery is that it does make an excellent kegel exerciser and I had fun just spending some time laying and sitting in different positions to see how it felt. Sitting on my bed wasn’t the most comfortable. After a while I decided that lying on my belly was the feeling and squeezing and wiggling my hips felt the best. That wiggly motion along with the squeeze from my muscles and feeling the Evi bounce against my g-spot, eventually drove me to a small but satisfying orgasm and left me wanting to experiment more with the Evi.

Further experimentation told me that walking around with it in and feeling it shift is incredibly cool feeling and even if it didn’t lead to an orgasm (I actually didn’t walk quite that far) it would certain be a good way to get me hot and bothered enough for more. Actually just having it inside me and feeling that pressure is enough to make me want more. I think I’ll enjoy wearing it out and about. I also tried it sitting down at my desk, which was much more comfortable than sitting on the bed and the feeling of fullness was fantastic. I’d clench my muscles and it would shift, or I’d adjust in the chair it would shift. Rocking back and forth in the chair was also quite fun. It is excellent for just hanging out with it inside you, as long as you’re careful to use enough (water-based only) lubricant to avoid getting uncomfortable. I’ve found that a thicker lubricant works better for this. But if you really want the exercise benefits you have to remember to squeeze those PC muscles.

So I did decide to wear the Evi out and about for a couple of hours and it initially didn’t seem to do a whole lot for me. There were times I barely even noticed it. However, once we got home and my partner surprised me in bed I found out just what a difference it made. All that walking around had made me very, very sensitive and I have to say the orgasms were fantastic.

The arm that is supposed to hit the clitoris doesn’t really do much for me. I can feel it there, and it seems to help hold the toy in place but it just doesn’t bump against me very well. Maybe because my kegels aren’t strong enough and I need to keep working on it, or my labia get in the way, or it just isn’t quite right for my anatomy. Either way it goes, this isn’t some sort of crazy deal breaker for me, although I do wish I could feel more sensation from it.

Overall, I’ve really enjoyed using the Evi both as an exerciser and as a toy/teaser and I think if you’re looking to improve your sex life with stronger PC muscles this would be an excellent choice. With a little (OK, probably a lot) more work I may be able to have consistent orgasms with the Evi by itself which should be very nice. If you’re interested in purchasing an Aneros Evi you can do so at IGNITE Pleasure Products for $54.95 or from your favorite body safe sex toy retailer.

Review: MysteryVibe Crescendo

When I got past the shipping packaging (which was quite discreet and delivered quickly via USPS) and pulled a sleek black box out I was very intrigued. The way this toy is packaged feels very posh with a slip cover over the box itself that is labeled MysteryVibe. I removed that to find a simple black box with gold lettering on the front and opened it up; and there it was nestled among a snug fitting enclosure, the MysteryVibe Crescendo. Beneath the Crescendo is a nice little storage pouch that also holds the charger, but that box is so nice I may just store the toy in there when it isn’t in use.

My first thought about the Crescendo when I heard about it was curiosity. It had to be some kind of gimmick I decided, but that didn’t stop the sex geek in me from wanting to try it. So when Luvoqa offered me the chance to review it I eagerly agreed. The first thing I did with it, once it was out of the box was to see how many different shapes I could bend it into. The answer: quite a few. So then I started planning which ones might work best for my anatomy. A “C” shape that was intended to hit both my clitoris and my g-spot was a good idea, but getting the Crescendo to actually hit both spots with enough pressure proved challenging.

I tried playing with the Crescendo without the app to control it, but the buttons were awkwardly placed and not easy to reach or press because of their small size. Neither were the buttons very intuitive to use and I felt like I was just mashing at them helplessly, trying to find a pattern that would give me an orgasm. Once I downloaded the app it made the toy much easier to play with, but I felt that the vibration patterns were lacking as well as the vibrations too were weak to do anything more than tease me. I think with six different motors both the vibration patterns and the intensity of them could have been much stronger. The feeling was just enough to make me want more but not for me to have an orgasm.

At one point I accidentally locked the toy and struggled to get it to turn back on for me so that was a bit of a pain as well. Another complaint that I have regarding the Crescendo is that it is one of those silicone toys that just seems like it wants to “eat” all the lube and I kept having to stop and reapply it, which is something that I hate to do as it tends to kill the mood for me. And don’t even get me started on charging the Crescendo. The Qi wireless charging system itself isn’t a bad idea, but the way to get the Crescendo to charge involves lining up buttons just so and is very finicky. I was so unimpressed by that the toy almost didn’t get a second charge. It takes roughly an hour to charge the Crescendo for up to an hour of play.

By and large, I wasn’t impressed with the MysteryVibe Crescendo and it didn’t work for me at all. If you’re really into the idea of multiple motors, an app to use the toy, and being able to bend it to suit your needs, you might really love this toy, provided you don’t like super rumbly vibrations and don’t mind the idea of possibly getting lube on your phone while you use the app (or water since the toy itself is waterproof; I can’t say the same for my phone so I didn’t try this one out.) And if you’re still curious and want to try the MysteryVibe Crescendo out for yourself you can purchase it at Luvoqa for $179.00 or check you favorite body safe sex toy retailer.
