Review: The Screaming O Charged Positive

ChargedO1

I read a review of the Charged Positive comparing it to the We-Vibe Tango (which I haven’t tried, but would love to compare) and knew then that I had to test it out. Luckily, I acquired a Charged Positive shortly thereafter in a contest and have been loving it ever since.

The Charged Positive is a small bullet vibrator with twenty different patterns and sensations.

ChargedPos3

The ScreamingO website indicates that it has a unique low-pitched motor; I feel that the motor is certainly of a lower frequency than that of any other vibrator I have tried to date and I absolutely love the feelings it causes. I’ve never encountered a vibe that could get me off without some other kind of stimulation to go with it, but this one certainly can! Most of the pulsating and patterns don’t do much for me, other than tease, but the first two steady settings are just wow. If you like rumbly vibes and don’t want to shell out for a Tango, this might be a good bet for you.

Aesthetically, I found it quite pleasing especially because I had the option to get it in a nice soft grey.

ChargedPos4

I thought that was the coolest since most companies seem to offer toys in the same boring pinks, purples, and blues. It is also a very smooth to the touch toy as it is made of ABS plastic which is covered in a polyurethane coating; it is also latex and phthalate free. The slightly angled tip gives it a nice tapered look, but still provides for excellent clitoral stimulation in a pinpoint way.

The Charged Positive has some special features that are worth mentioning as well. It does come with a USB charging cable, although it is a propriety cable and not a standard USB. That’s not really a big deal unless you’re like me and sometimes misplace cords or forget what toy they go with. The toy itself is also marketed as being 100% waterproof so it should be good for some bath time fun and a breeze to clean as well. It also comes with a handy holder that helps protect the vibrator while charging and the packaging says you can also use the charging stand as a way to hold onto the vibe while it is in use. I tried that and it felt really awkward and uncomfortable to use that way. I just hold it in my hand.

ChargedPos1

Speaking of hands, this isn’t a vibrator that leaves my hands numb or tingly after use, although it can leave them somewhat warm as the toy can heat up surprisingly quickly, This may be a downside or it might not bother you depending on how long you are using the Charged Positive. It has up to a sixty minute battery life on one charge and does charge fairly quickly so if you’re looking to use it later in the day, you can plug it in that morning and it will be all ready to go by the time you’re all ready to go. One thing about the Charged Positive that is frustrating to me is the way you cycle through the patterns. It only has one button and you have to cycle through all twenty patterns to find the one you want and if you should bump that button (which is a bit stiff) you’ll need to rotate through every pattern again.

The Screaming O Charged Positive has its ups and downs, but overall it is a great little vibrator and one that has already seen plenty of use in my bedroom. I expect it will continue to do so. If you’re looking for something small and rumbly this is definitely a good choice for that. You can find the Charged Positive at Screaming O’s website for $59.95 or you can check your favorite body safe sex toy retailer if you’re too impatient to wait for shipping.

Review: Satisfyer 2

The Satisfyer 2 is one of the original models in the Satisfyer line. Unlike the Pro Penguin and the Pro 2, it is battery powered (it takes two triple AA batteries) and the use of the batteries as opposed to the magnetic charging seems to make the device a tiny bit more powerful than the other models. It is no more than a very slight difference however so if you prefer the charging models to spending money on batteries, well I don’t blame you.

I didn’t find it quite as aesthetically pleasing as the Pro 2 model but the Satisfyer 2 is white with rose gold trim and buttons and is a functional if not terribly ergonomic seeming toy. Rather than the curved handles on both the Pro 2 and the Pro Penguin, the handle is straight and rather long. I found the long handle to be rather useful so I could angle it to hold the toy steady with plenty of reach to do so. The power and control buttons are on the back and I think that of the three toys I’ve reviewed they have the best placement and are easy to reach with your thumb or the fingers of your other hand. The buttons also let you cycle up and down through the 11 pulsation modes without having to go all the way down and then back up as with newer models.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Satisfyer line I will point out that this toy isn’t a vibrator, but an air pulsating toy that for some can be really intense and for others can be quite stimulating. Playing with the different settings is always fun to find out which ones are not quite enough, which is just right and what is too much to handle. I had a decent experience with the Satisfyer 2, but by far my favorite model is still the Satisfyer Pro 2, which I have already reviewed.

Like with other Satisfyer models this one is also supposed to be waterproof, but based on my previous reviews (here and here) I suggest caution when using them in water as some people have had problems with the toys breaking and dying completely after being used in water. I was lucky when I tried the Pro 2 in the bath that nothing happened, but due to my concerns about the water being a hazard I can’t tell you how my Satisfyer 2 acted in the water. I will say it’s great out of the water and that works for me!

It is hard for me to say that I was super impressed by the Satisfyer 2 because the Satisfyer Pro 2 immediately spoiled me to mind blowingly relaxed orgasms that were absolutely zero effort. However, with that in mind, the Satisfyer 2 did get me off and I wasn’t disappointed in the toy. I definitely feel like it has some better functionality than the Pro 2 and the Pro Penguin, the most noticeable being the button placement, especially as compared to the buttons of the Pro Penguin, which I found to be pretty awkward to use. The silicone nozzle on the Satisfyer 2 is slightly differently shaped than on either of the other two models, both of which have distinctly different shapes as well. It is nearly completely round and I did have some difficulty getting it situated on my clit, but I think that had more to do with the way my anatomy is shaped rather than a defect in the toy.

Overall, I enjoyed playing with the Satisfyer 2 for my review and it was, as most reviews are, a, shall I say, pleasant experience. Because of the longer handle on this toy, it may be more suitable for plus sized people as well as those with mobility issues in their hands, arms, or wrists. You can find the Satisfyer 2 at Peepshow Toys for $35.00 or from your favorite body safe sex toy retailer.

Review: Satisfyer Pro Penguin

When I received the Satisfyer Pro 2 that I reviewed earlier this month I was also sent the Satisfyer Pro Penguin and the Satisfyer 2. I hadn’t really looked into the Pro Penguin much because I was more interested in the Pro 2 and I’m glad that I didn’t bite the bullet and purchase a Penguin.

ProPenguin1

It’s a cute little pink (oh the horror) silicone coated toy with what seems to be a really nice design to it. The buttons on this toy are located on the front side of the toy so you have to make sure you have enough room to reach between you body and the toy to get at the buttons, which I found to be somewhat non-intuitive. The buttons themselves also can be tricky because they are basically a button within a button and the larger button turns the Penguin on and off and the smaller button which is harder to see because it nests right beneath the larger button with only a small seam to define the two buttons(they are on the white part).

ProPenguin2

The handle is not quite as long as the one on the Pro 2 which meant that I had some difficulty reaching my clit and getting the toy to seal. I also don’t feel that the silicone head was meant for my body type or the rather, the shape and size of my clit. Instead of being somewhat oval like the Pro 2, the Penguin has an opening that is larger and more rounded. It simply refused to give me a good seal even with some lube.

Much like the Satisfyer Pro 2, the Penguin works with the same pressure waves and steady pulses and is also trying to mimic the feeling of sucking your clit. Because I was unable to get a good seal with the silicone nozzle it just kind of felt kind of boring. In order to get any stimulation from this toy I had to literally hold the nozzle in place directly and even then it certainly wasn’t giving me a suitable orgasm from the feeling it only sort of created.

In many other aspects it is nearly identical to the Satisfyer Pro 2 including having 11 settings and having to cycle through them from 1-11 and then from 11-1 to reach your setting of choice. I found it to be slightly buzzier at the high end of the settings than I like ( again much like with the Pro 2), but again since I can’t get a good seal it didn’t much matter in this case. It also charges magnetically just like the Satisfyer Pro 2 does, which means having a proprietary cable.

ProPenguinCharge

This is another toy in the Satisfyer line that is supposed to be waterproof, however, after reading this post written by SexBloggess, I was hesitant to risk putting the Penguin in water as it might not be quite as waterproof as the name could imply. Hopefully others have had better luck with the Satisfyer line, but I would advise caution if you want to use this toy in the bath or shower.

Overall, the Satisfyer Pro Penguin didn’t impress me at all and it isn’t a toy I wouldn’t suggest it for anyone who is plus size, has wrist/hand/arm mobility issues, or who is worried about the lack of waterproofing. Anyone else, if you’re game enough to give it a try you can find it at SheVibe.com for $55.99 or at your favorite body safe sex retailer.

Review: Satisfyer Pro 2

Ever since the Satisfyer Pro 2 hit the market I had been DYING to get my hands on one of these toys. I’d heard so many good things about the Womanizer (which I have not tried) that when a lower cost option came out I was practically drooling over it.

The outer packing on the box was simple and unassuming and there was no hint as to what was inside. Also, coming from Germany the package arrived very quickly (roughly 3 business days) to me in the U.S. One thing that my partner noticed that we both really liked about the packaging is that it was sealed with a “Hygiene Seal” sticker. Obviously if the seal has been broken then perhaps the toy has been compromised, but basically it seems to act simply as a protection measure against tampering. I still found it to be a very good idea. Inside the box the toy was nestled in a protective bit of plastic and included a USB capable magnetic charger (the magnets for the charger are on the bottom of the toy) and the instructions. The instructions go over the general usage of the toy and include all the pertinent warnings. They also state that 2.5 hours of charge time will give you 30 minutes of play time. I wasn’t initially impressed by this assessment, but in my estimation of the time I’ve spent playing with the Satisfyer Pro 2 I’ve gotten more than 30 minutes of play out of the toy on a single charge. Given how much fun I’ve been having with it I’m going to call that a huge plus.

The Satisfyer Pro 2 is not a vibrator. Instead it works through steady pulsations and pressure waves that are supposed to mimic the feeling of having your clit sucked on. For me, that’s not really what it felt like, but it still felt fantastic in a deep rumbly kind of way. It has 11 different speeds starting from just barely there to almost buzzy at the top end. I prefer speeds 4 through 6 in order to get off, as they seem to be the most rumbly ones. And holy wow do I get off. The first time I tried it I ramped up the intensity pretty quickly and within probably 2 minutes I had soaked my bed, not once, but twice (Note: put a towel down next time)! The sensation was incredibly novel and very titillating at the same time. I was actually really surprised at my reaction because these weren’t my usual thrash across the bed orgasms, but very sudden and deep ones that rocked me to my core without making me feel utterly exhausted. I was sold. Every time I have played with it since that same sensation has come over me and the orgasms have been intense. I tried it with my partner while they fisted me and it was an interesting feeling to be full and have those pulsations, but not mind blowing. I think I almost prefer this one as a solo, just for me toy.

Satisfyer claims that this toy is waterproof and I had no trouble when I tried it in the bath (except for the contortions required to reach my clit in my tiny bath tub), but I’ve seen on Twitter where other bloggers, have had major issues with there being damage to their Satisyfers when using them in water (everything from turning themselves on at random, to getting into the entire unit and basically ruining the toy) so your mileage may vary on this one and caution is worth exercising. I’m not a big fan of sex play in the bath or shower so it hasn’t been a problem for me and I haven’t experienced these particular issues. But it may be a big deal for some of you. I found that the ABS plastic body is easy to clean with a good wipe down and the silicone head can be popped off to wash it. Again, I’ve never had a bit of trouble, but I only played with my Pro 2 in the bath once for a very short time.

The design of the Satisfyer Pro 2 is fairly ergonomic and because it has a bit of length in the handle it works well for me because my belly and breasts tend to get in the way otherwise (yes I’m a fat sex blogger ya’ll). I do have to hold the toy at a bit of an angle to get a good seal against my clit, but it doesn’t cause me any problems. The buttons are located on the back of the toy with the power button below and the control button up top.

SatPro1

One thing about the controls is that you have to cycle back down through all of the previous settings. Some people are driven nuts by this, but it doesn’t really bother me, probably because, like I said, I prefer settings 4 through 6 and rarely go any higher than that.

Overall, I feel like this is an excellent toy, one that will remain in my regular rotation for a long time. It is lightweight but feels well made and I’ve had zero issues with mine since I received it. You can find the Satisfyer Pro 2 at SheVibe.com for $59.99 or at your favorite body safe sex toy retailer.

Review: Svakom Billy

I’m always on the lookout for new toys to try and when I heard about Svakom I was interested in their toys, but wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Luckily I won my Svakom Billy in a contest (Thanks Emmeline Peaches!) and have been able to give him a try. The Billy is an averaged sized toy at approximately 1 and a quarter inches diameter, 7 inches long, and an approximate weight of 93 grams. Mine is a beautiful violet color that I absolutely adore; it also comes in plum red on the Svakom website. It is a solid, well made toy.

However, it didn’t work for me. I found it be adequate at best and really struggled to eke out an orgasm with it. The curve was too shallow to reach my g-spot without pressing the toy really hard and upward inside of me and even then I struggled to get enough pressure to find any pleasure from this toy internally. It just wasn’t gonna happen as I quickly found out. The curve and shape of the toy just do not work for me in the slightest and the buzzy, make my hand numb, vibrations also didn’t work for me. Also, the more pinpoint vibrations that this toy does very well aren’t really something that I’m into so that was another reason that it was a no go toy for me. Overall, this toy was a bit of a dud as far as I am concerned. It doesn’t suit my body size or shape wise and sadly isn’t what I need in a vibe. Even my ever helpful partner who seems to be able to work magic on toys couldn’t help me here. It’s not under powered or a bad toy. It just didn’t work for me The only orgasm I had with it was very weak and rather unsatisfying.

It does have its plus sides however, and my favorite of them is the very plush, almost velvety finish that the silicone has to it. At one point I was just playing with the toy in my hands because I found the texture to be so interesting; and it is a smooth toy so the idea of texture might seem a bit odd, but there’s no other word for it. It also comes with a nice, branded storage pouch and charges via an included USB cable. Mine came charged and because the toy has a polymer lithium battery, it holds a charge quite well even when not in use. The total charging time is about one hour and according to the Svakom website it will give you two hours of play time on a single charge. It is also waterproof which is nice if you’re a fan of shower-gasms and makes it easier to clean as well. The toy itself is also very quiet. When I tested it with my partner they indicated that they might be able to hear it if the house was completely silent. Otherwise, this one seems like you could close the bedroom door grab some lube (water based only folks!) and have some fun with no one knowing a thing about what you’re up to.

Billy3

Overall, while the Billy didn’t work well for me, it is a well constructed toy that has some solid features that make it a nice toy and if you’re looking for a high quality vibrator with a slight curve to it this certainly might be an option to consider. You can purchase it directly from the Svakom website or at your favorite body safe sex toy retailer.

Review: Tantus Echo Handle

I picked up my Echo Handle from a Grab Bag sale at Tantus and got this beautiful purple toy. I loved it for the color alone the moment I saw it. And first things first as usual: measurements; it is 7 inches insertable with a four inch handle so it totals 11 inches in all. It seems intimidating at first glance because the handle does add the extra length, but upon a closer look it suddenly seems more reasonable, especially once you notice the texture difference between the slick glossiness of the insertable part with the matte handle.  It isn’t exactly a toy for size queens as it is somewhat narrow at  1.5 inches in diameter.

Tantusmeasure1.jpg
11 total inches

The Echo Handle is made of 100% Ultra-Premium Silicone that is a unique formula to Tantus itself and is relatively flexible, although EVERYTHING sticks to it. Lint, dust, cat hair, etc. It will need a good storage place/pouch and/or cleaned before and after every use. Cleaning it can be as simple as a good wash with warm water and a mild soap. For use I tend to suggest using only water or oil based lubes (organic, unrefined coconut oil is a favorite), but with a bit more research there are indications that you can use silicone lube with silicone toys provided that you do a patch test on the toy in an inconspicuous place. If the silicone starts feeling gummy then you can scrape the lube off with a fingernail and know that you need to  use a different lubricant for that toy.

Now on to the good stuff. This toy is simply amazing. One side is perfectly smooth and the other had a series of bumps or ridges that feel absolutely delightful.

Handle

The handle is perfectly shaped for your hand to wrap around it and not lose your grip even if your hands are slick. The handle is useful for me because I have  a really long torso and with shorter toys sometimes I can have trouble getting the right angle because my wrists just don’t quite bend that way. But with the handle it gives me plenty of room to maneuver the Echo and get different angles to hit different spots; this toy could also be useful for people who have poor hand, wrist, or arm mobility because of the handle providing that extra length. I wasn’t sure the Echo Handle alone would be enough to get me off because I frequently enjoy heavy vibrations with any kind of penetrative sex, but with this toy I can slowly drag the ridged end across my g-spot until I’ve soaked the bed. If I do want to add a vibrator I have room to do so and that just ramps up the intensity so it is good there. This is also a toy that my partner likes to use on me because the handle gives them more freedom of positioning like being face to face with me. It really is a good way to help us maintain a higher level of intimacy. We are continually finding new and more intimate ways to use this toy and I’m always amazed at the versatility of it.

I think this will become a staple of the toy box and I’m really glad that I opted to purchase it over some of the other Tantus toys that I looked at.  Over all I feel like the Echo Handle is a solid toy with a lot to offer anyone who enjoy dildos in general. The texture alone I think it worth giving it a try. I’m definitely pleased with my Echo Handle and would suggest it to anyone who enjoys texture or wants a different sensation that you can use the handle to create. You can find the Echo Handle at tantusinc.com or your favorite body safe sex toy retailer.

Review: NMC Toys Red Vibrator

I bought this toy off a random site on the Internet some time ago now (before I knew about reputable websites like SheVibe) and only used it enough to decide that I definitely did not like it. It is tiny coming in at about 3 inches insertable and 5 inches total and even though it has a nice curved tip that could be used to stimulate one’s g-spot, the toy didn’t even come close to reaching mine.

So I tried it as a clitoral vibrator and that was just a distraction to anything else I or my partner were doing. The vibrations are very buzzy and buzzy just does nothing for me. It quickly became relegated to the never use again pile, until I decided to post a review here. Nothing has changed from my first assessment of awful and buzzy and generally useless for the way I am built and what I prefer, which happens to be much rumblier vibrations than this toy could ever be.

I’d never seen anything as to whether or not this was a silicone toy so I opted to do a flame test on the toy, but because there was no way for me to verify what the company had to say about the matter and my knowledge is limited, I cannot be conclusive in my findings as to what exactly the toy is made from. To the best of my understanding it did react as thought it were silicone, but without shelling out money for an expensive lab report I can’t be sure and therefore deem my findings as pure speculation. If you want to learn more about flame testing check out Dangerous Lilly’s blog. I will say when I used it there were no adverse effects from it, other than the fact that I simply did not care for it as a toy.

I also won’t be searching out or purchasing anything from this brand again simply because I don’t like the toy and because I’m unsure on the quality of the materials. If you’re looking for a good g-spot or clitoral vibe you could take a look at the B Swish Bcute Classic Curve which is similar in size to this particular toy lengthwise (so it may be too short, find your G-spot!) or the Aria Hue by Blush Novelties. It is a bit longer and might be more suited for some people. So there are a couple of G-spot vibrators you might like. If you’re more interested in clitoral stimulation either of the vibrators above might be right up your alley with that rounded tip for a a pinpoint stimulation or you might prefer a more classically shaped vibrator like the We-Vibe Tango. At any rate, if there is one thing I learned about buying my sex toys, it is that I should buy them from reputable shops and companies so I know what my toys are made of and not buy something simply because of the price. I hope you enjoyed this review and will come back for more reviews, erotic stories, and other sex and relationship related topics!
