Review: Tantus Curve Super Soft

TantusCurveSSBox

My immediate impression of the Tantus Curve Super Soft when I opened it to take pictures was one of curiosity. How could something so soft and flexible be a good g-spot toy? So I wiggled it around and played with it in my hands trying to discern that for a few moments before getting pictures. Then the real fun could begin. So with my handy bottle of lube…

TantusCurveSSStanding

For the first time, ever, I was initially unimpressed with a Tantus toy! I had such hopes that it would get me off like a champ being that A) it was a g-spot toy and B) Tantus has never done me wrong before. Very quickly, however, I figured out what my trouble was. I simply couldn’t get the curve of the Curve in the right spot. It was incredibly frustrating and left me reaching for a different Tantus toy to play with.

Trying to keep an open mind I left the Curve for a few days and pondered just how I could make this toy work for me. I love the Super Soft silicone formula that Tantus uses (I also have the Goliath Super Soft and love it!) and the six inch length of the toy couple with an approximately 1.4 inch diameter was just about perfect for this particular toy. I wanted, needed to find a way to make this toy work for me. So I tried it again, this time using a piece of sex furniture to try and change the angles. Sadly that was a no go as well. By this point I was well and truly annoyed at myself because I couldn’t seem to find the continuous pressure that I needed as the toy moved in and out. It felt great at the opening to my vagina, however, so that was a definite plus and one that I did enjoy quite a lot.

The shadowy looking bits are those delightful ridges.

Oh, but finally, my friends, finally I found the Holy Grail of the use of this toy. Letting my partner use it on me (without a strap on) and they could reach to get the angles that I could not. Plus that in and out bit of a pop with those slight ridges along the shaft. And it was glorious! I can only imagine how well this toy could possibly work with a strap on. Even with the bendy, squishiness of the silicone this toy suddenly became great for exactly what I wanted, as long as someone else was at the helm. I may or may not have disturbed the neighbors. Oops! If you like g-spot stimulation, but are somewhat sensitive to it or like a more gentle approach the Curve Super Soft just might be your new jam.

TantusCurveSSBent
So overall, while I had my doubts and challenges with the Tantus Curve Super Soft it turned out to be a winner after all, although it will be reserved for use only with my partner. Which works for me (us.) I received my Curve Super Soft in exchange for a review, but you can purchase yours at www.tantusinc.com, in either midnight purple or black, for $71.63 or $69.99 depending on the color. Review: Satisfyer Pro 4 Couples

SatisfyerCouples2I wasn’t sure about this new couples toy from Satisfyer from the get go. It just didn’t look quite right to me as far as angles go and I had some misgivings about whether or not it would suit my body. But before we get into that, let me tell you more about the toy itself.

The silky while silicone of the toy (which is a hallmark of the newest line up of Satisfyer toys) is plush and lovely to the touch and is a perfect compliment to the ABS plastic rose gold buttons. The toy does have a certain elegance about it and I’m sure this plush feeling and muted color choice attribute to that. It is also relatively quiet, much quieter than some previous Satisfyer toys that use the pressure wave technology. And, as a wonderful touch, it happens to be waterproof and recharable. No messing about with batteries here, just clicking the included cable into place with a magnetic charger and plugging the other end into a USB port either on your computer or wall adapter. It can be used with a water or oil based lubricant.

SatisfyerCouplesButtons

The Pro 4 Couples has eleven different intensities of clitoral pressure wave stimulation ranging from barely there to holy crap it’s a jackhammer on my clit, albeit a buzzy jackhammer that is mildly uncomfortable. It also has an arm that vibrates to the tune of ten patterns of varying intensity and steadiness. The steady vibrations are always what seems to work best for me, but if you like a bit of variety the Satisfyer Pro 4 Couples does offer that with the vibration patterns it produces.

Unfortunately the toy didn’t suit my anatomy at all. Either I had the pressure wave stimulator on my clit and the arm kind of just hanging out or I had the vibrating arm inside of me and the clitoral stimulator was nowhere near my clit. My partner tried bending the flexible arm to help me get it in place to no success. So it was basically a no go for me from the outset, although the steady vibrations were relatively rumbly compared to some other toys I’ve used and the patterns were OK, but again not my thing. So, sadly, my despite our best attempts, my partner and I couldn’t make this toy work for us no matter how hard we tried.

But, if couples toys are your thing and you want to try a quality product that is well made I would suggest the Satisfyer Pro 4 Couples. You can purchase it directly from the www.satisfyer.com shop for $69.95 or check your favorite body safe sex toy retailer.

Review Satisfyer Pro Plus Vibration

SatisfyerVibrationboxlogo

The instant I turned the Pro Plus Vibration on I had a feeling that this toy and I were not going to get along in the slightest. It seemed like it would be far too busy for me to focus on either aspect of the pleasure the toy should bring in order to reach an orgasm. But, being the intrepid sex toy explorer that I am, I broke out the lube and gave it my best shot.

The pressure waves alone are no different than those of any other toy in this line up and I know from using previous Satisfyer toys that I can and do orgasm from them. But I was pretty leery of the vibration. Here I am, pantsless, and I turn just the pulsations on and it feels pretty good. OK, maybe I’m gonna be wrong about this; I have been before. I waited until I was close to orgasm before turning on the vibrations and everything just, well, stopped for me. The vibrations drowned out the pressure waves and rattled me half to death it seemed and that long awaited orgasm was gone, gone, gone. It was just too much stimulation all at once and my body noped right on out of the fun.

I was actually pretty sad about this because as much as I had my misgivings I was really hoping this toy would work out and produce some earth shattering orgasms for me. So I gave it a couple days and decided to try it again. Maybe I would be wrong and this would turn out to be a better experience than my first one was.

But it wasn’t. This time I started with just the vibrations, but they were so buzzy (and seemingly annoyingly loud) to me that I just couldn’t get anywhere near an orgasm even without the pulsations. After another chance at the pulsations to almost an orgasm and turning the vibes back on only for my body to just recoil from the sensation I knew there was no way that I was getting an orgasm out of this toy. Which is a real shame as I had some high hopes that this would be something amazing with the right combination of pulsing and vibrations.

SatisfyerwithVibrationButtons
Buttons with charger magnets at the bottoms

However, there are some good things I can say about the Satisfyer Pro Plus Vibration. The ergonomics of the toy are fantastic and the buttons were placed perfectly. No fighting, no fiddling, and no fumbling around in the dark. It helps that the toy itself lights up pretty brightly so you can see somewhat as well. And another good thing is that the “annoyingly loud buzziness” isn’t nearly as loud as I thought it was. I couldn’t hear the toy from the next room. And for those of you who enjoy a little bath time fun, the Satisfyer Pro Plus Vibration is waterproof, but please make sure to use water based lubricant with it.

So for me this toy was an absolute dud. No go. But if you’re interested in a Satisfyer toy that brings a little something extra to the table besides just the pulsations then this just might be the one for you. You can find it at Peepshow Toys for $69.95 or you can check your favorite body safe sex toy retailer. Or, just for my readers you can checkout at the Satisfyer website with a special code “livvy25” to get a 25% discount. This offer is only valid in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Offer ends April 2nd.

Review: Avant D3

Peepshow Toys kindly sent me the Avant D3 Dildo  made by Blush Novelties to review and holy hell was the reviewing part fun! But let’s start with the basics shall we? The Avant D3 is hand sculpted out of platinum grade silicone (Yay for body safety!) and is seven and a half inches long with six inches of that being insertable. It is one and one half inches in width. I wouldn’t call it a small toy, but by no means does it seem to be a giant and overwhelming dildo, at least not from my point of view.

AvantD3InBox

The brightly colored stripes are beautiful and caught my eye immediately. That alone made me want to hold it in my hands and see how pretty it was. By far, I’m going to say that this is the prettiest dildo that I own. It is also made of a nice, plush silicone and has a relatively firm texture, although there is a bit of squish to it. It reminds me of a firm stress ball. My first impressions of the toy beyond the gorgeous color and wonderful texture of the silicone led me to the ridged texture of the toy itself. I couldn’t wait to use it and see if they felt as good as they looked.

AvantD3Head

The head of the toy is very pronounced and that is one of the things I love about it, however that head may look intimidating because of its size and shape. To me it looked like fun and I can feel the very generous pop and then pull slightly against my skin as I slide it in and back out of my body. It isn’t painful at all and I found the sensation to be very pleasurable. And those ridges? Yeah…they do good and happy things to my insides like glide across my g-spot in a perfect rhythm and leave me wanting more and more and more, which I eventually get in the form of an explosive orgasm or two. In my opinion the girthy head paired with the ridges along the top of the toy make it perfect for g-spotting which is exactly what it is designed for. The length of it is almost, but not quite, too much and for me that it absolutely perfect.

AvantD3Full

When it first arrived and I was examining it at my desk I was curious and immediately stuck it to the top of the desk. And it stuck. Since then, it has been stuck to a window, a plastic box, the side of a bathtub, and a wall, and it has stuck where it was placed on all of them. So the suction cup definitely functions as intended, although I’m not a fan of using it. I simply don’t find it comfortable to use a dildo that is suction cupped to anything. But I know if I want to try it again, this will be my go to toy.

AvantD3SuctionCup

I’ve spent most of this review gushing over this toy and have tried to find anything negative about the Avant D3 Dildo and in all honesty I cannot think of a legitimate complaint. It attracts cat hair like a lint roller, but it is silicone and all of my silicone dildos do the same thing. The closest thing that I have to a complaint is simply wishing that the texture was even more ridged, but that’s just because I love textured dildos, especially when the texture hits my g-spot, which, again, this toy does wonderfully. Also, don’t forget that if you’re using lubricant with it that you want to choose something that is water or oil based.

So there’s my take on the Avant D3 Dildo. I can’t get enough of it. The colors, the pronounced head, the texture and feel of it. Everything about it makes me happy. If you’re interested in picking up your own Avant D3 Dildo check out Peepshow Toys where you can purchase it for $43.00.

Review: Satisfyer Pro G-Spot Rabbit

Initially I expected the Satisfyer G-Spot Rabbit to be just as underwhelming as Satisfyer’s seemingly very generic packaging is. I’ve never had a good experience with a rabbit vibrator to date so I figure this one wouldn’t be any different. And it does have some faults, don’t get me wrong, but the combination of sensations with this toy is simply amazing.

SatisfyerRabbitBox
The packaging seems very bland.

The plain white silicone is very plush feeling to me and it didn’t take much lube at all as it was very smooth to the touch. It is also kind of a novelty to have a white toy when the majority of them seem to be pink or purple or other seemingly feminine colors. It has an unsurprising pale pink accent around the clitoral arm of the toy and the power button is pink with two smaller white buttons above it, similar to the buttons on other Satisfyer toys.

SatisfyerRabbitButtons
Finicky buttons

However, those buttons are a major sticking point for me on this particular toy. They are placed in such a way that I practically had to be sitting up to reach and use them (some of this may have been related to my bigger belly) and the controls themselves don’t seem to be very intuitive. One button (the single wave) turns on the vibrating part of the toy and controls the vibrations as well. The bottom button, with four waves, turns on the pressure wave stimulator (the rabbit part) and controls that as well. It was incredibly confusing for me as I expected that the buttons would both be for up and down functions as well and I was consulting the manual more than once, even double and triple checking as I wrote this review. Maybe in writing this seems simple to you, but when I couldn’t see the buttons and I was pressing blindly to find the right ones it got a little annoying. Note: after multiple uses the buttons did become easier to get the hang of so perhaps this was just a matter of a learning curve.

SatisfyerGSpotRabbitsideview
So pretty and silky smooth

On the other hand, once I did some experimenting with placement and shifting the toy this way and that until I got it just so then found the right combination of vibrations and pulsations caused by the pressure waves I was on my way to orgasm land. I couldn’t thrust the toy but had to thrust my hips against it instead which worked out just fine and allowed me to keep contact with my clit while stimulating my g-spot with some surprisingly rumbly vibrations (nothing buzzy here y’all.) And boom! My orgasm hit me like a freight train and just kept going and going. It literally did not stop until I moved the toy away from my body because I was so sensitive. If I had kept going I know I’d have squirted all over the bed so I’m going to call that a definite win in my book. Hopefully this is the experience all my readers have, but I understand that rabbits of any kind are not one size fits all. This particular one, though, offers eleven different intensities for the pressure waves and ten different vibration programs so it has a wide range of possibilities.

As with previous Satisfyer toys this one is waterproof, should be used with water based lubricant, and is rechargeable via a magnetic connection to a USB port. It can take up to eight hours to fully charge for the first time, although mine only took about two hours before the light quit blinking indicating the full charge. All in all, this has been a remarkably surprising toy that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed using, despite the buttons, and can see myself using frequently in the future. If you’d like to purchase one they can be found at Peepshow Toys for $59.95 or you can check your favorite body safe sex toy retailer.

Review: The Dodil

dodilcanister1
The thermos container that the Dodil comes packaged in.

When I first heard about the Dodil I was curious, but also felt like it might be a little on the gimmicky side. That said, I still wanted to try it because who wouldn’t want to be able to have a custom dildo. I love that it comes packaged in a thermos container that is actually a useful part of the design and a good place to store the Dodil when not in use. I do wish the thermos or its lid was a bit taller though so it could be screwed shut for better storage. Of course, depending on the shape the toy is molded into this is a non-issue.

When I initially boiled my water and poured it into thermos with the Dodil and then waited twenty minutes instead of the thirty the directions called for because I was getting impatient, I quickly discovered on my first try shaping the Dodil that it can be more difficult than you might expect. I know my first shape wasn’t pretty, nor was it effective as a G-spot toy like I was hoping it would be. But, the beauty of the Dodil is that I was able to place it back in the thermos, refill it with water, and there I had it, a nice straight toy that I could shape and design to my heart’s content until I found what was just right for me.

Dodilstraight
Before molding

So I started designing and shaping and molding and even enlisted my partner’s help to see what they could come up with as well. Between us we came up with various textured or curved designs that when tried ended up being varying amounts of successful in the way that they helped me reach an orgasm or not. I lost count of how many configurations I tried and I’m sure that I will try many more of them in my never-ending quest for more orgasms, please!

Obviously the Dodil requires you to have a bit of patience, a trait that I am lacking, in order to let it get soft enough to mold, then cool enough to handle and for me that was a little frustrating simply because, as I said, I am not a patient woman. But seeing as this is simply the mode of action for the toy I guess I’d better learn some patience and better sculpting skills while I’m at it. My initial reaction to the included bit of plastic string to tie the Dodil into shapes was to assume that it was more than a bit fiddly and immediately discount it. But once I had some practice shaping and molding the Dodil, I found that having a way to hold it in place that didn’t involve me holding it to keep a shape or texture from coming undone was quite nice. One thing that I do wish, is that the Dodil had a bit more mass to it, not length or girth specifically just more material to work with in general, although I’m learning to work with what I’ve got!

Above: Three different shapes I tried out. Can you tell that I love curvy dildos?

I still stand by my statement that the Dodil is a bit of a gimmick where toys are concerned, but I find that it is a rather novel one. I may not use the toy frequently because it can be a more than little fussy, what with the boiling water and everything, but I feel like it has its place in my sex toy arsenal, as a tester of shapes if nothing else. We’ll see how that evolves over time. If we find something that we particularly like we can see about finding a more permanent solution. But that ability to test out various shapes and textures seems like it could be useful in the long term.

If you’re interested you can purchase the full Dodil kit at Luvoqa for $111.00 or you can check out your favorite body safe sex toy retailer.

Review: Aria Hue G G-spot Vibrator

BNAriaHue1

The Aria Hue G is a fantastic toy at a fantastic price. Made by Blush Novelties this vibrator is waterproof, features 5 different vibration patterns, five different speeds, and is made of phthalate free silicone. And it is under $30! It isn’t rechargeable, but I wouldn’t expect it to be either at that price point. But the battery life off of two triple A batteries is pretty good so that honestly didn’t bother me much.

This particular toy comes in several colors including Cerise Pink, Plum Purple, Tangerine Orange & Lime Green (I opted for the green and it is super vibrant; I love it!) and I love that it comes in colors other than just pink or purple. Brightly colored, multi hued toys are one of my favorite things and the Aria line of toys by Blush Novelties nails it. To get into some specifics the toy itself is 6.29 inches long with 5 inches of that being insertable. It’s 1.39 inches around make this an easy to use toy especially if you like smaller toys or are perhaps intimidated by larger sex toys.

BNAriaHue2

Also the Aria Hue G is QUIET. Like I can hold it in my hand on the highest setting and it isn’t making any detectable noise that I can hear kind of quiet. Great for anyone who needs or wants a little privacy when it comes to their toys. This is a big deal for me since I live in an apartment and some toys are just too loud to use when the neighbors are home.

Now in my case I normally like much stronger vibrations than a battery operated toy could typically provide, but in this case the toy just seemed to hit a sweet spot. It was a tease to my clit getting me oh so close to an orgasm, yet not quite there, but inserting it into my vagina and fucking myself with it was a whole different ball game. I could feel the vibrations in all those delicious nerve ends and the bulbous head hit my g-spot just right. Orgasm city you guys, seriously. It was also great to position it it against my g-spot and let it rumble away until I came again. This toy packs more of a punch than I expected it to, both because of its low price and being battery operated. Just goes to show that I shouldn’t prematurely judge a sex toy based on looks alone. One thing I didn’t like about the toy is just how flexible it is. It made using it a challenge at first until I was able to adapt to how it moved inside of me as I thrusted, especially if I was moving quickly. But I can see how some people might find this an advantage as they can get a little more leverage to press against their g-spot.

BNAriaHueHead

All in all this toy is worth the investment if you’re just dipping your toes into the sex toy pond. I also think it would be good for someone who has never used a sex toy before because it is rather unassuming and while the shape and size certainly give it away for what it is, it is easy enough to store out of sight because it isn’t a large toy. If you’d like to purchase the Aria Hue G G-spot Vibrator, check it out on peepshowtoys.com for $27.99 or look for it at your favorite body safe sex toy retailer.
